Phillies to name Peter Fatse as hitting coach: Sources
Fatse, 39, is a former minor league player who was hired by the Boston Red Sox as their hitting coach in 2022.
Rob Bradford of WEEI reported in September that Fatse had joined the Tampa Bay Rays as “a hitting consultant for the club’s baseball research and development department.
President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski acknowledged the Phillies tried to hire Cora in April when they were prepared to move on from Rob Thomson and hadn’t yet made Mattingly the interim manager.
