Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website trendnews.uk.app and the TrendNews API (together, the "Service") provided by UK.APP, London ("we", "us"). By creating an account, using an API key or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

TrendNews automatically detects trending topics in news published in more than 100 countries and produces short automated digests with links to the original articles. Digests are generated by software, are not edited by journalists and may contain errors, omissions or out-of-date information. Headlines, articles and other content of third-party publishers belong to their respective owners; we only link to them. News data is obtained from freenewsapi.ai.

2. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials, passkeys and API keys confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys.
• You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher.
• Notify us without delay at support@uk.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account or keys. You can revoke keys at any time in your account.

3. API use and limits

• Each plan has a daily request quota, a per-minute rate limit and a maximum number of API keys, as shown on the pricing page. Requests above the limits are rejected.
• You may display data from the API in your own websites, apps and services, provided you keep the links to the original publishers and do not present automated digests as original journalism.
• You must not: resell or redistribute raw API access; share keys with third parties outside your organisation; circumvent quotas (for example by creating multiple free accounts); scrape the website instead of using the API; use the Service to build a competing news-data API; or use the Service for unlawful, misleading or abusive purposes.
• We may suspend or block accounts or keys that violate these Terms or put the Service at risk.

4. Paid plans

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis through our payment processor Stripe. Prices, renewals, cancellation and refunds are described in the Subscriptions & Refunds policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, specific response times or the completeness of the data unless agreed in a separate written agreement. We may change, add or remove features, endpoints, countries or limits. Material changes to paid plans will be announced in advance; you may cancel before they take effect.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design and the TrendNews name and logo belong to UK.APP. The automated digests may be used through the API according to these Terms. Third-party content remains the property of its owners.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or data, or for decisions made on the basis of the data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by writing to support@uk.app. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these Terms. Sections 6–9 survive termination.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of UK. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
