Confirmed facts
Each fact is a sentence from a source that at least two independent outlets report.
Ohio governor Vivek Ramaswamy’s recent campaign ad featured the mother of his opponent, Dr. Amy Acton, who accused Amy of lying about the sexual assault and rape she faced at the hands of her stepfather, Cledith Arthur, in the 1970s.
Cledith later failed to appear before a judge and became a fugitive in October 1978.
Vice President JD Vance has also defended the ad, and Vivek has stood by it, telling reporters that it is important to hear from people that are "close to" Dr Acton.
