Body found near Disneyland Resort entrance as police swarm area
A 65 year-old’s remains were found near an arched “Disneyland Resort” sign close to the Anaheim-based park’s south entrance Sunday afternoon.
Eric Anderson, a sergeant with Anaheim police, told The Los Angeles Times the man was a homeless person known to the department.
The sergeant said the area was briefly closed off by authorities as they awaited the arrival of officials from the coroner’s office.
Security at the park informed the police department about the discovery just before 10 p.m., with officers requesting help from the bomb squad at the Orange County Sheriff's Department and later determining that the bags did not contain explosives, Anderson said.
