The pilots locked down the cockpit, but told air traffic control the passenger didn’t know anything was happening.
The FAA said in a preliminary statement the flight returned safely and that the FAA will investigate.
"The flight was delayed overnight due to crew timeout, and departed for Newark this morning," the statement continued.
Harry Reid International Airport confirmed that the aircraft turned back soon after departing.
