Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown avoided immediate prison time on Monday when a London judge handed down an eight-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, following a violent altercation in a Mayfair nightclub.
The 37-year-old admitted to a charge of affray earlier this year after striking former friend Abraham Diaw in the head with a tequila bottle on the dancefloor at the Tape private members’ club in February 2023.
Prosecutor Heidi Stonecliffe KC told the court that Brown used a heavy square-shaped tequila bottle to strike Diaw twice over the left-hand side of his head.
